      Members of Local 135 The Air Capital Classic is being held at Crestview Country Club June 25th - 28th this year. They have asked if the firefighters could provide some assistance on June 28th from 2 to 7pm to tear down the event.  They are looking for 6 people to help them.

      Happy Payday! The winner for today’s Payday Raffle is Kayla Wallace. Kayla is a CSA employee who works at the Coroner’s Office at the Denver Health complex. Congratulations Kayla!   The registration deadline is one week from today for the 29th Annual Burn Camp Golf Tournament to be held May 20th at Fox Hollow Golf Course. Registration deadline is next Friday May 13th.

      Keith D. Smith "Smitty" born March 30, 1944, died Monday, May 2, 2016 as a result from his battle with cancer. The 72-year-old lifelong resident of Indianapolis had touched so many lives through friendship and his illustrious career.

      Shrewsbury Fire is having a fundraiser for one of their members, Tom Schofield. His almost 2 year old son was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that has left him with a numbert of neuro deficits. He is in and out of Boston Children's and Tom is unable to work and he and his wife recently had another child.

      Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act
      The US Senate is preparing to debate and vote on this act(HR 980) that will give firefighters the right to bargain collectively and have a grievance resolution. Please contact Senator Brownback and Senator Roberts and urge them to vote in favor of this legislation that will help Firefighters across the country, including many right here in Kansas.
